oão Paulo has been CEO and Board member of FinHealth S.A., a Brazilian investor base of biotech and healthcare companies, since 2014. From 2009 to 2013, he served as Managing Director of Burrill & Company, a US venture capital and private equity firm, and as Head of Burrill’s Latin America operations. As CEO of Burrill Brasil, he was responsible for raising a new local Investment fund with the participation of major institutional investors. He is accredited as a Fund/Portfolio Manager by CVM (Brazilian equivalent to the US SEC). João Paulo is a graduate in Economics from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Selected highlights of his distinguished career in the business and financial industries include: Expansion of market operations to Brazil – for the Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering (INESC)/ Aitec SGPS. Mercatto Venture Partners (MVP) Ltda. – Founder (1999) of a pioneer company in Brazilian venture capital. Project INOVAR, FINEP (Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology) – created Venture Forum Brazil and developed a partnership with BOVESPA (preparing companies for investors). Brazilian Association of Venture Capital (ABCR, now known as ABVCap) – a Founder and Board member. Rio Bravo Venture Partners – Director.  MVP Tech Fund – President of Investment Committee and Portfolio Manager.  American Chamber of Commerce, Brazil – Vice-Chairman of Health Committee (2010-2011). Experienced angel investor in technology-based companies in Portugal and Brazil.
